This will give you the opportunity to assess your budget and decide whether you want to continue to explore the possibility of working with Home Nice Remodeling as your project contractor. Please note, your estimates will not include the materials for your project. Construction costs are much more certain, as they don't vary. The amount you pay for materials like cabinets, countertops, tile and flooring is completely dependent on the selections you make. We can let you know an approximate range of costs based on our previous projects, but your choices are the ultimate guide.

If the "ballpark figure" sounds good to you, the contractor will build you a thorough and accurate estimate for your project. And when we say "accurate," we mean it: the amount you agree to pay on the formal estimate is the amount you will be charged. Any additional work or other amendments to your plan will be agreed to through a Change Order that you must approve and pay for separately, so you remain in control of your plans and finances at all times. Depending on the size or intricacy of your proposed project, we may request a retainer to begin the design and/or estimate analysis. Any retainer paid will be applied to your contract as a payment upon signing your construction contract.

Once you have received and approved your completed estimate, we get started on the fun part of your project: approving designs and choosing materials! If your project includes cabinets and closets, we start there and then have you select appliances, countertops, tile, flooring, hardware, and fixtures.

When we know when your cabinetry and other materials will be delivered, we can give you a start date and plan your construction schedule. We do it this way so your project will flow smoothly, without the delays waiting for materials. Our method of scheduling results in a high degree of time certainty, which means you are inconvenienced for the least amount of time possible.

Your construction schedule is divided into four parts: Preparation: permits, plans, materials orders, and labor scheduling Rough: demolition, framing, rough electrical and rough plumbing Finish: completion of electrical and plumbing, drywall, cabinet installation Completion: trim and hardware, countertop installation, plumbing fixtures, flooring, paint Your contractor and project manager will be in communication with you throughout the entirety of your project, using a dedicated app that will help keep you in the loop.
